Marcia Gay Gilmore Nickerson, 70, of Fishers, passed away July 29, 2007 in her home, after a long battle with cancer. She was born March 11, 1937 in Boston, MA to the late L. Donald and Marjorie Vogel Gilmore. In addition to being a homemaker, Gay had previously been employed with several local businesses. She was a graduate of Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire. Survivors include her husband, Ripley “Ned” Nickerson; children, Jeffrey A., Stephen D. and Scott R. Nickerson and Lisa G. Lasher; 8 grandchildren; sister, Diane Williams and brother, L. Donald Gilmore Jr. Gay was active in the Hamilton Center Women’s Auxiliary and was a member of the Dinner Bell Circle in Carmel United Methodist Church. A private family service will be held in Carmel Methodist Church, of which she was a member. Family and friends will gather on Thursday, August 2, 2007 from 4-8 p.m. in Leppert Mortuary, Smith Carmel Chapel 900 N. Rangeline Road, Carmel, IN.
